Pakse, Meeting point for a Mekong cruise

All our Mekong cruises have the meeting point of the Sinouk Coffee House in central Pakse (corner of Number 9 and Number 11 Roads).

The meeting time at the Sinouk Coffee House is between 9.30-10.00am. You are able to fly from Vientiane to Pakse the same morning as the cruise on the Mekong departures. You are also able to fly into Ubon Ratchatani from Bangkok on the flight that arrives at 7.05am and transfer to Pakse on time.

At the cafe, our guide will welcome you to the cruise, in english and in french (en français) , he will explain the itinerary and show you your route on the map.

Our Vat Phou Mekong Cruises itineraries start and finish in Pakse.  The cruise down itinerary cruises downriver starting at the Vat Phou ruins, continuing to the Oum Moung ruins, 4,000 Islands and finishing at the Pha Pheng waterfall.  The cruise up itinerary does exactly the same cruise in reverse, starting at the Pha Pheng waterfall, continuing upriver to the 4000 Islands, Oum Muong Ruins and finishing at the Vat Phou ruins.

If you are taking the cruise down itinerary, you will then walk to the boat pier (about 5 minutes) where we will transfer you to small boats. You will be on these boats for 2.5 hours before joining the Vat Phou cruise in time for lunch.

If you are taking the cruise up itinerary, you will be transferred by bus to the Pha Pheng waterfall for a visit. We will then drive you to a restaurant on the Mekong river bank for lunch.  You will spend 3-4 hours travelling among the 4,000 Islands by small boat, as our boat is too large to navigate these waters, and visit Don Khone and Don Det Islands.  You will join the Vat Phou cruise in time for sunset on the first afternoon.
